For a Friday night HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) game, the National Stadium in Karachi had a low turnout. However, the sparse audience chanted Azam Khan's name in unison when he appeared for Islamabad United. They shouted loud enough to give the impression that the place was crowded.
After all, what they were seeing was thrilling, exciting, and totally worth the price of the admission.
Azam's performance for the Quetta Gladiators was absolutely stunning. The hefty right-hander went on to show he was one of Pakistan's best power hitters by destroying the Quetta bowlers for 97 runs off 42 deliveries after Sarfaraz Ahmed's bowlers had reduced United to 71-4 by the halfway point. His innings featured nine fours and eight mind-blowing sixes.
